Publix, a prominent grocery chain with over 1,300 stores primarily located in the South, offers a dozen large, Grade A Publix brand eggs for $5.09 at Jacksonville, Florida, area stores. While the price may vary by city, the overall cost reflects the higher egg prices in Florida, which had the second-highest egg prices in the country at the end of 2022. However, South Carolina, with the best median egg price among the states with a Publix presence, offers a more affordable option at $3.69 per dozen.
Safeway
Safeway, known for its stores in the western U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii, provides cage-free and organic egg options. The prices vary by location, with a dozen Lucerne Farms cage-free eggs priced at $4.99 in Oakland, California, and a dozen Grade A large eggs available for $4.49 in Alexandria, Virginia.
Trader Joe’s
Trader Joe’s, operating in 42 states plus Washington, D.C., is recognized for its specialty and seasonal products at competitive prices. However, the best deal for eggs at Trader Joe’s is a dozen pasture-raised large brown eggs priced at $4.99.
